Metaphor Poem

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to use metaphors in our writing. To show what we have learnt we had to make a poem about us but with lots of metaphors. The thing  I enjoyed about making the poem is that I got to describe myself in any way possible. The thing I could do better is to add more metaphors. My favorite one is Liam is a nuclear atomic bomb that explodes full of knowledge.

My Pepeha

In the last few weeks Te Ngahere has been learning to add our family members into our pepeha. A pepeha is something to tell people who you are and where you are from. To show what we had learnt we made either a Powtoon, a google slide or a google drawing. Before we did that we had to write it on a google doc. After that the Powtoon was easy, we just had to copy and paste our writing in the Powtoon, then decorate it.  The thing that I enjoyed about my pepeha was that I got to learn more about my family.

Dear Mrs Lindsay

I am writing to you because, I  think we should get the Maths Number Hub and all the stages because, it will help us learn better, it will save the teacher's time, and let us learn quicker.

It will help our learning because number hub will let us learn better and quicker, for example when I had a goal I went on to number hub and learnt it the day I got my goal.

Also it will help us learn easier because ,instead of the teachers making a slide and finding activities for us, we can just go on number hub and practice. For example every day and night Whaea Becks has to plan our maths of the day, and give us activities videos and look through books to find things to do for math’s, but we can just go on number hub and it is already there.

The whole school could also use it because the seniors can do it on the chrome books and the juniors can get it on the iPad. For example the juniors get to pick their goal that they can learn quicker, instead of looking through pages and pages in a book, and that will give them less time to learn it.

It is quicker because there are a lot of ways to explain it how to do one goal. You just need to type up number hub and it it there, you don’t need to sign up or anything.

If you think about it, it is like 3 dollars per child. For example we can even do a bake sale and we might get even more then we need.

We don’t have to sit on the mat to long, For example in maths we have to sit on the mat for ages telling Whea becks what we are doing, but now she knows, it is either number hub or a workshop.
If only if we had an amazing principal that will get us all the stages in number hub

So that's why I think we should have all the stages in maths number hub.

The thing I did well was writing the reasons.
The thing I could do better is writing more examples.

Sincerely Liam. B

friendship

In Te Maunga we have been learning about friendships and relationships. In your reading groups we read a story about 5 girls and how there life went. The thing I was good at is answering the questions and the thing I could do better is listening more. First of all we had to read it ten answers questions as we go, then we did 4 activity's .

I did a waka but my mum and dad are the waka and me and my sister are in it.
Here is a link to what every thing means.

Art Explanation
The thing I could do better is doing the painting better.
The thing I did well was Explaining it.

Treaty Grounds writting

Wohoo the day was here, me and my class got to walk to waitangi. When we were walking I could here all the cars and trucks going past. In 10 or 5 minutes we got over the bridge and to the treaty grounds. Then I had to stand in line with my excitement inside of me waiting for everyone to get a sticker. “Finally” I said to myself. We got to walk through the gates and play a game they did back then.

My first game I played was weaving the kite and playing with it. Step one, we had to get into groups of 2. My partner was Indie, Step 2, me and indie had to pick a mat to work on, Step 3 we got a piece of neko. ( neko is a type of plant that you weave). Step 4 we had to rip of the 2 bottom leaves of the neko. Step 5 on each side me and indie had to grab a neko leaf and went over under over under until there is a little bit of it left and tie it to the stim. We did that for about half an hour and then the kite was done. Step 6 play with your kite.

The second game I played was back in the old days when mori warriors were in the forest they used power shells to lessen. To make one you need 2 power shells a bead and string, Step 1 get the 2 power shells and open the power shell and plop the bead in. Then tie the string to it and done do it again. We had to pick another player and get blindfolded then we shook is every 5 seconds or every time I moved. But you have to tag your opponent. When I was blindfolded I like danced trying to tag him, but he tagged me first.

The next game I played was called mātau māui the way to play it is, get 2 long ropes enough to as many people on in as you want. Then when someone says matau jump to the right. Then when someone says maui jump left. Then the will say Te whanganui jump in the middle. First time through I came 4, 2 time through I came 2, 3 time I came 1. It was fun. Suddenly I realized that we have to go back to school. “Noooooo!!!” I said. So we started to head home.

As soon as I got to school I stuffed my face with a sandwich and ran to bus.

I was learning to write a recount from my tripe to waitangi.
The thing I could do better is adding more detail.
The thing I did well was putting the events in the right order.                                                   The End.
