SLJ Weird and Wondefull

NZ has many amazing plants along with other countrys. Did you know that the African desert is inhabited by many amazing and outstanding plants and trees, like the Cactus. Some Cactus they can live only with 3ml of water a day.

So I got told to imagen that I got a Cactus for my birthday each day I give it 3ml of water a day. Over a year how much water did I give it.

So then I did the math I used my multiplication facts and I worked out with a little help that 365x3 = 1095. So the answer is 1095.

Here are some Cactus photos.Image result for african cactusImage result for african cactus

SLJ Going going gone

Over the past few years scientists have made a discovery that cities (Jakarta, Indonesia, Venice and Italy) that they are slowly sinking under the ocean and some day they will disappear, that must be scary.

Some people who live there have sent in photos or writen stories of were they live in 2018, to record how there lives are there before it disappears.

I was asked to write a blog post like I was one of those people before NZ disappears in the bottom of the water next week. Here is how it goes.

Another day gone by and they water is getting higher and higher by the day, schools shut down and everyone in my street are trying to water proof there houses. I heard my peraents talking last night that we might move to a diffrent country that isn't going under. I have but all my valuables in a zip lock bag and attached floaties to the bag. The water is alread up to my waiste, I wish that a miricle will happen and all the water will go. Me and my family have to carry my neses and nephew every were other wise the will go under. We have just moved to the highest hill we could find so the water will take ages to get to us. Lets just hope it doesn't rain other wise that will make the water rise. As the sun goes down I see our house go under. All my stuff gone.

SLJ WWF

In 1961 a group of people created an organisation called WWF (World Wildlife Fund). There main goal is to protect the worlds wildlife and the earth. There are many WWF staff that work all around the world in diffrent countrys.

They all try to protect the animals that live here. The WWF is trying to save every animal they can and they are also trying to save the plants to. The WWF helps all the animals in diffrent ways, from making snow banks for baby pups to setting off traps that try to kill tigers. That have made great accomplishments trying to save then wildlife on planet earth.

Here is there sign and a link to there website. Personally I think there work is outstanding.

SLJ Activity 3: Ice, Ice Baby

Antarctica is the coldest continent on earth it is also the driest continet. Did you know that it hasn't rained there for nealy 2 million years! It is inhabited by many animals such as whales, seals, birds and fish. It is not permanently inhabited by humans. How ever scientists vist there all the time to study it. This year they used some amazing actors from Hornby Primary School in Christchurch to film a safty video in Antarctica. Just like on planes we need to stay safe and be smart online. By thinking who we shared infomation with in the pased and in the future. Also if we have had or going to have a positive digital foot print. My task was to put in a digital foot print who to stay safe online and that is what I have done.

Here is a link to my digital footprint.
